The New York Times published today and article on shifts in the electorate.  Quite fascinating actually.  In my opinion, the Republican Party as we know it has dissolved.  Republicans will shed their affiliation with the religious right as they no longer represent an influential electorate.  The entire country has shifted about ten steps to the left.  Traditional Democrats are now more liberal and Republicans are now more moderate as the country recasts its bipartisan principles.

I have a feeling Obama might push the Democratic party to the same place that President Bush has pushed the Republican party… and that is… ruins…  If he does, it will cause another paradigm shift to auto-correct the country back to conservatism.  Obama needs to flirt with the far left, but not take us there without our consent.
