Bush’s dig at Democrats & Health Care

First, is anyone still listening to him?  Just curious…  Today Bush made not so veiled digs at Hillary’s botched national healthcare program in the mid 90’s in an attempt to bolster support for Republicans and his battle with Congress over children’s health care.

Congress wants to expand the program and Bush wants to minimize it.  His argument?  He doesn’t have one really… he just says that this is a slow and methodical effort to deceive the American public by Democrats to migrate towards national health care.

He says that instead of expanding the program, lets just get the ones who qualify but don’t use it to use it.  His “No Child Left Behind” was a national program he still thinks is one of his crowning achievements.  Ask any teacher if they think it’s good… they’ll probably spit at you.

What was the statistic?  I think it was ONE MONTH of his IRAQ war would fund the expansion of this program for the entire year.

New Music (NOT) Monday, Cartel

The album was completed in 20 days inside a giant glass bubble as part of the Band in a Bubble program sponsored by Dr. Pepper, MTV and KFC. The band was forced to live inside the bubble for 20 days without being able to leave. The first single Lose It was performed from the bubble live on June 1st for TRL’s Spankin’ New Music Week. Throughout the recording of the album, the band was watched constantly by fans through 23 webcams that were positioned all through the bubble. The album was finished two days before the set time and was completed with 13 songs. The album was performed by Cartel after they left the bubble on June 12, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.

Trevi, Red

While not entirely clear on the motive, a “right-wing” extremist poured red dye into Trevi Fountain in Rome.  Leaflets found around the area said it was in objection to the “red-carpet” expenses the government paid for, for the Rome Film Festival?  No idea what that means, but the fountain looks pretty cool!  They had it all flushed out within a couple of hours and said no permanent damage was done.  I’ve been to Trevi Fountain… yer supposed to throw two coins over the back of your shoulder into the fountain for good luck.  I’d post the photo of me doing it, but I’m white as a ghost and look like a putz.

More White House doctoring of documents…

As is becoming standard behavior, the White House has doctored a report from the CDC on how climate changes will affect the spread of disease in the coming years.  With the GOP in constant denial that we, as humans, are primary contributors to climate change this doctoring is consistent with their agenda and deception to the American people.  Speaking of the report;

“It was eviscerated,” said a CDC official, familiar with both versions, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the review process.

Stephen Colbert, 13%

In a race with Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani, Stephen Colbert would attract 13% of votes for President of the United States.  Naturally, the demographic of those voters is under 30 years old but it reflects the circus that is the 2008 election.

Hillary Clinton (D) vs.
Rudy Giuliani (R) vs.
Stephen Colbert (I)
Hillary Clinton (D) 45%
Rudy Giuliani (R) 35%
Stephen Colbert (I) 13%

New Music Monday, Young Love

Dan Keys, previously the frontman for Recover out of Austin, TX he wanted to do his own thing so he moved to NYC and by the end of 2005 was signed as “Young Love”.  The debut album is “Too Young To Fight It” and was released January of this year.  Other than the song below, “Close Your Eyes” is awesome as is “Find
A New Way” and “Discotech”.  They genre is electronic/dance-ish…  “Close Your Eyes” is a ballad, and a good one at that…

War-mongering Bush, WWIII

The nerve… actually, it’s not nerve, it’s total and complete idiocy.  If he knew anything about anything then he’d have nerve… he’s just simply inept.

Yesterday President Bush held a press confrence in which he bumbled out that if Iran aquires nuclear weapons it would surely lead to World War III.

“We’ve got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel,” Bush said. “So I’ve told people that, if you’re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.”

He is such an embarrassment.

State Department, Rebuked… go figure.

I don’t know what exactly nonbinding ”resolutions” are in Congress.  I know they had one for that MoveOn.org Betray-us ad… seems its just a way to waste time and a mechanism to just say ”shame shame, we know your name” type of bureaucracy.  Too lazy to look it up right now, BUT the House, in a 395-21 vote just passed a nonbinding resolution stating  the Bush administration abused its power by classifying U.S. assessments on the corruption in Iraq.  Secretary of State Condi Rice’s staffer says they would never dream of abusing their powers and dissuading the American people.  Liars.
